Before we do anything else, we're stopping at Hyphen Space — the best matcha spot in Dallas. It's a creative café and makerspace tucked in Expo Park, and they make everything in-house. Their own compotes, their own syrups, ceremonial grade matcha per order. You're going to love it. Try the Strawberry Shortcake — it's what they're known for. Trust me on this one.

African American Museum of Dallas

I planned this one specifically for us. We're getting there right when they open at 11 — before it fills up. Two exhibits I really want us to walk through together. This is going to stay with us.

Mandela: The Official Exhibition

This is the one I'm most excited about. All four galleries, immersive and multisensory, built with the Mandela family. Rarely seen personal artifacts, films, photographs — tracing his life from a rural village in South Africa all the way to becoming the country's first Black president. 27 years in prison and he never broke. One gallery puts you inside the defining moments of his life. Free. Texas debut. We're not missing this.

People Who Make The World Go 'Round: The Legacy of Sepia Magazine

Sepia was the Black answer to Life Magazine — a publication that put our culture, our people, our stories front and center decades before the world caught up. This exhibit celebrates that legacy. It's history, it's culture, it's ours.
